Sharing from our Humourous Queen, Katy

Nothing is impossible- what a simple statement, yet there is so much truth in it. For me, participating in the humorous speech contest this time is like scuba-diving for the first time. At first, I had tonnes of excuses not to join the contest- "I'm not a humurous person", "how can I make people laugh"...so on and so forth. But then, I started to think over again why I participated in Toastmasters Club in day 1- I only have one goal in mind- "Improve my public speaking skills and boost up my confidence". And truly, there is no better way to achieve this goal than to be a contestant and dive into the 'scary' and 'unknown' world.

Once I am under the sea, it is another colorful utopia- the support of my mentor and other members, my hidden courage to conquer public speaking fears and my sensitivity to see things in different ways. What a rewarding experience!!

Dear Katy,

Congratulations! I hope I can have chance to listen to your joke now. It's my great loss to have missed this great day and all the performances, on top of those was yours!

The Area contest is on a Saturday and I will come. I shall wait to be amused.

I totally agree with Katy. I am not a humorous person. This is the second time I am in a humorous contest although I have been a toastmaster for nearly ten years. If I have an interesting topic, I will surely do it again in the coming years, especilly with so much suport from Oasians.
Happy toastmastering,
Have a great week end,

Christine
