Anne Au is getting marry!!

Oasis always has good news. After Nadine Wong, Alex Chea, Now is our graceful Anne Au, Let's wish her and her beloved one have a new and happy charpter of their life.

Dear all,

I'm glad to tell you that I'm getting married this year. :D Some of you may already know about it from my facebook :P

I would have wedding banquet on 24 November, 2007. I really wanna to invite all of you to come however I'm sorry that I am not able to do so, as there's limited seat in the chinese restaurant and I got loads of relatives. :(

I do wanna to share my happiness with you all. So I would like to give you the "cake card" in the regular meeting on 12 November.

If you're not able to attend the meeting on that date, please reply me with your postal address so I can send it to you by mail. Please inform me in advance hence I could send the card to you before my wedding day. It's because in my family tradition the card must be given out before my wedding day.

Thanks a lot for your advance notice. And for people who would attend the regular meeting, see you soon then.

Regards, Anne

P.S. It's really busy in these months but I would try my best to come to the meeting more often after my marriage and honeymoon. :)

Great Thanks to Oasians, from Katy

Dear Oasians,

It was such a blessed journey to have participated in this humorous speech contest. Thanks so much for your support, encouragements and faith in me!

Though i only came second in the area contest, but the whole contest experience has given me a big leap in my presentation skills. I've come to my senses that, being a good speaker= keeping up with your fitness, positive attitude, perseverance, persistance and determination. Wow...just so wonderful!

Most importantly, million thnx to my mentor Teresa who has given me unlimited support and 2 hairy crabs. Also, thnx to Pan, Dickson, Ivy and Alex for offering me valuable advices. My performance was indeed a collaborative work of all of you!

Quoted from my favorite movie- Dead Poets Society, i hope that everyone of us can 'Seize the Day in Oasis and Make your Life Extraordinary'! Oasis is indeed a philosopher's stone for you to uncover your potential!

Cheers,

Katy

Sharing from our new member, Derek

Last Saturday was a wonderful kickoff for new member like me. I actually felt like “shooting two birds with one stone”. On one hand, learned a lot from the champion speakers and on the other hand, took part in the contest as a ballot counter. Thanks Teresa for giving me a chance to participate.

The reasons that drive me to become an Oasian are the passion to achieve excellence and the hospitality that I find from all of you. I am eager to start my projects and be evaluated. Hopefully I can develop the same in my journey of Toastmaster.

Toastmasters Christmas Party Need You

Our Christmas Party is coming on mid Decemember, the time and place is now ready, but still keep it as a secret first.

This is now the time for you to contribute your exciting and creative ideas such as team games, dress code and theme, so it makes our party more fun. Any bodies who have ideas can leave it as a comment or send me email directly.

At the same time, any brothers and sisters who like to contribute your human effort as a organizing committee also can call you.

We need you and wait for you.

Steve
Chairman of Christmas Party

Thank You From Our Evaluation Area Contestant, Sally

I have not expected and prepared for the Area contest (Evaluation speech contest) till the moment comes on the contest day, as a replacement. Friends, when chance comes, don't set barrier for yourself. Go for it as sometimes things might not be so difficult as you perceived. Do it for there's no harm for loss but you definitely gain some valuable experience.

Thanks for the support from Oasians!

Sharing from our Humourous Queen, Katy

Nothing is impossible- what a simple statement, yet there is so much truth in it. For me, participating in the humorous speech contest this time is like scuba-diving for the first time. At first, I had tonnes of excuses not to join the contest- "I'm not a humurous person", "how can I make people laugh"...so on and so forth. But then, I started to think over again why I participated in Toastmasters Club in day 1- I only have one goal in mind- "Improve my public speaking skills and boost up my confidence". And truly, there is no better way to achieve this goal than to be a contestant and dive into the 'scary' and 'unknown' world.

Once I am under the sea, it is another colorful utopia- the support of my mentor and other members, my hidden courage to conquer public speaking fears and my sensitivity to see things in different ways. What a rewarding experience!!

Jacky's poem share with you

BOUNCY BOUNCY BOUNCE TO YOU - The Loud and Laudable Oasians
=====================================================================

To find these Bouncy Oasians; in an Oasis of Bounty.

To hold infinity on your stage; and eternity you never age.

Let your fantasies flare; Wear the costumes you dare.
Let the audience beware; of blunders they all can bear.
Enchanted while you are there; They have their own hearts to share.
Laugh till you're gasping for air; Pluck a few hairs who cares.

The speakers are starry bright,
To the listeners' delight. Arouse a few hubbub, and a round of uproar,
Suddenly they are booing, and then they will applaud.

An Oasian lad is cool, and Oasian lass so sooth.
Ration us joy you good may do,
If the passion is in you.

~The End~

Continue the laugh from 818 to 910

Last Saturday, we cant stop laughing from 10 contributors on our first Stand-up Comedy Contest. Congraduation to Double Tony, Tony Chan and Tony Cheung, our double champion. Do you agree we easy to get laugh from the topic of Man & Woman relationship and Toilet, because both are closed to everyone, right? Finally thanks to our Contest Judge, Jami Gong, a professional Stand-up Comedian.

Coming up next is our In-house Humorous Speech and Evaluation Contest on 910, you all have nearly 2 weeks to upgrade your Humourous level. Contestants, I look forward to your great performance.
